and fill me full of love

honeyed lips around

the trembling

tenderness of my throat,

whilst I

in worship of you

swim the moat

of your

defences.

But I am defenceless

against the army of your anger.

I tore down

my walls of love

for you

and used the bricks

to build a highway

to your heart.

you run me over

squash me flat

with tanks of tears

and salvos of angst

you skud my dreams

with your silence

and shower me with

the shrapnel of your spite.
